Low Carb Parmesan Tilapia
When you're trying to eat clean but still enjoy some lean meat you're choices are sometimes limited to chicken breast and different types of fish. Tilapia is a great choice that's easy to find, inexpensive, and easy to cook. After a while I get tired of cooking things the same ole way so I love to try new recipes that taste great and are easy to make. In this post I'll be sharing two simple but flavorful recipes that I've used and loved. Both recipes are low carb and quick. Here's what you'll need to make a low carb broiled Parmesan Tilapia.
Ingredients
- 4 Tilapia Fillets
- ¼ Cup Parmesan Cheese
- ⅛ Cup Butter
- 1½ Tablespoons Mayo
- 1 Tablespoon Fresh Lemon Juice
- 1/8 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/8 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
- A sprinkle of Old Bay seasoning or Black pepper
Pepper to taste
Directions
Turn broiler onto high and adjust oven rack to the top.
Grease a broiling pan or line pan with aluminum foil.
Place tilapia fillets on foil lined pan.
Broil for 3 minutes.
Remove from the oven, flip over and divide the parmesan mixture over the uncooked sides of the tilapia.
Return to the oven and broil an additional 3-4 minutes making sure not to over cook the fish.
If you like your Tilapia to be breaded then this extra recipe may be perfect for you. Here's what you'll need to make Breaded Garlic Parmesan Tilapia:
Ingredients:
- 4 Tilapia fillets (about 1-1/4 lbs)
- 1 to 1-1/4 cups fresh breadcrumbs
- 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 3 tablespoons lemon juice
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 425°F. Coat a shallow baking pan with nonstick spray or use aluminum foil and arrange the fish in a single layer.
Brush the fish fillets with the remaining tablespoon of olive oil, top with the crumb mixture, and sprinkle with the parmesan cheese.
Drizzle the lemon juice over the top and bake until the fish flakes easily and is opaque throughout, 7 to 8 minutes. Serve immediately.
What are your favorite ways to prepare Tilapia?
Bon Appetit
